Ahoy there, Ray!
Oh boy, this makes me so happy to hEAR you will be sailing to
Alaska! My family and I couldn't wait to set foot onboard the
Disney Wonder for our Alaskan itinerary. You and your crew are going to have the best time making magical memories together!
Disney Cruise Line will not be resuming cruising to Alaska until 2022, so you’ll have to wait a bit longer before getting to experience the call of the wild in person. However, this does give you an excellent planning window to do your research and choose the best dates and itinerary for you.
One of the best parts of planning an Alaskan voyage is selecting
Port Adventures. Go ahead and explore the list of options, and I’m certain it will have you even more eager about visiting the Last Frontier. There are so many amazing ones, it does make it challenging to choose between them. We ultimately decided on Kayaking and the White Pass Scenic Railway in Skagway, the Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau (after Dogsledding had to be cancelled due to weather conditions), and the Bering Sea Crab Fishermen's Tour in Ketchikan.
Here’s a planDisney tip: if you simply cannot decide between Port Adventures after reading their full descriptions (including the ever important “Know Before You Go” details), then you could always base your decision on which town you are more interested in having time to explore. In my opinion, I enjoyed walking around Skagway and Ketchikan far more than Juneau, so I would choose the lengthier excursion for your Juneau day.
Bobsled back to planDisney where we can talk more about Alaska and get you all prepped to experience the Land of the Midnight Sun. Here’s hoping you book that Alaskan adventure at sea real soon!
Bon Voyage!
