Ahoy, Kimberly!
My family and I loved the Alaskan voyage onboard the Disney Wonder a couple of years ago. My kids also had a must-do & must-see... whale watching! We were looking out a lot while wrapped up in our balcony, and we didn't see any whales while we were out at sea. We did however, see some dolphins welcoming us to the port, and that was a treat to watch!
When we visited Juneau, we absolutely enjoyed the
Best of Juneau port adventure. It's a full day event, which included an educational catamaran ride -- we were kept warm & comfortable inside and the windows were all clear, so you could stay inside and enjoy the views. We were ecstatic to have seen a whale breach... not once, but twice! It seemed like the whales knew we were watching them, and they were showing off. We saw the whales up close, which was really cool too. The naturalist onboard was very knowledgable, and my kids enjoyed learning about our mammal friends' habitats. The salmon lunch was really yummy! And the tour also included visiting the Mendenhall Glacier. We definitely got our money's worth on this port adventure.
I noticed that I missed answering one of your earlier questions about dining room assignments... sorry, as I was out on vacation at Aulani last week (
oh, I miss the beach already!). Anyway, your dining assignments are released to you on embarkation day - you can call the Disney Cruise Travel Desk at 1800-951-3532 if you'd like to make a certain dining room assignment request, but it is not guaranteed of course.
If you have additional questions, please feel free to log back in and send in any additional questions to help you prepare for your upcoming magical trip! We're always glad to help.
Happy planning, Kimberly!
