We are going on the Alaska cruise in July leaving out of Vancouver. Are there any drug store type stores near the port for diapers and wipes. We are riding the metro from the airport and I'm trying to avoid having to pack them on the plane.

    Hi there, Erica!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  Your Alaskan adventure will be here before you know it and so much fun awaits you onboard the Disney Wonder and in Alaska!  My family is headed to Vancouver in a couple weeks for our own adventure through Alaska with Captain Mickey and we are so excited!

I totally understand not wanting to pack diapers and I remember those days very well!  In fact, our second Disney Cruise Line vacation was to Alaska and I had a four-month old AND a 17-month old who were both (obviously) in diapers!  I think we had an entire suitcase solely for diapers, wipes and formula!  As I remember, and as my resEARch is proving, the Port of Vancouver is centrally located near shopping, restaurants and entertainment.  I do see that there are a number of convenience stores nearby, although I am not exactly sure that they will carry everything you may be looking for as they appear to be more of a true convenience store type.  I would recommend either considering taking a taxi or private transfer from the airport and arranging for the driver to take you to a store where you can be guaranteed to find what you need OR just plan to bring them with you to be 100% certain you have it!  That was my choice when my boys were younger because I was always concerned that I would not be able to find everything I needed, especially when traveling internationally.  They do sell diapers onboard in Mickey’s Mainsail, but those may be limited, and being without diapers is definitely something you don’t want to have happen!

If you haven’t yet, be sure to book time for your little one to go to the “it’s a small world” nursery! onboard.  Your little Mouseketeer will be well cared for and you will get an opportunity to enjoy some time onboard without a little one in tow!  I highly recommend visiting Senses Spa & Salon when you get some adult time and indulging in one of their relaxing services…after all, it is a vacation!

I hope that this information will help you in planning accordingly; just think…if you do bring them with you, you’ll have PLENTY of room for all the souvenirs you will collect during your vacation!  Have a WONDERful adventure with Captain Mickey!
