    Me & DH @ AKL 10 days 2/09-2/19! Can't wait! Even tho' just us 2, am concerned with packing clothing for 10 days. I hate to do laundry on vaca BUT it will be best to aim for a couple loads midway thru.What's the AKL setup for machines,cost?Advice?Hints

    Hello Donna!

    When it comes to packing for our Walt Disney World Resort vacations, I've always said that "less is more" when it comes to clothes.  I want to leave lots of room in our suitcases for souvenirs!  With two little ones in tow, we always have plenty of laundry to do, so I always scope out the laundry facilities when we arrive at the resort on our first day.

    The laundry facilities at Animal Kingdom Lodge are located directly across from Simba's Clubhouse, near the pool area.  At this time, washers and dryer each cost $2 per load.  They are coin-operated machines. A change machine is not available.  I usually bring a little bag of quarters with us for laundry as well as our own travel-sized soaps.  You can purchase soap at the resort, but we prefer our own.

    My tip for laundry is to do it while you're relaxing at the resort and enjoying the pool!  I pop in the laundry, get a little sun and swim time in, and then return to my room when it's all finished.  The washers and dryers seem to be busier in the evening hours, although I've never experienced an issue where a machine wasn't available.
