I want to make the most of AK since it will more than likely be son's favorite. my plane departs@6:55pm what would be the latest you'd recommend leaving? using resort trnsprtn? whats the earliest i can check out of movies resort? staying 2/28/12-3/2/12.

    Hi Daisy,

Second question first: If you leave a credit with the front desk of your hotel when you check in, there's no need to formally check out of your hotel at all, you can just leave whenever you want in the morning. If you do want to confirm your bill or pay with cash, the hotel front desk will be open all night. You can stop by whenever you want and they will print out a copy of your charges and settle up with you.

If you are using Disney's Magic Express service to get to the airport, you will receive a notice of your departure time at your room a day before your check out. Generally, Magical Express pick-up time is about three hours prior to flight time. My guess is that your pick-up time will be between 3:30-4:00 pm. I would leave the Animal Kingdom 45 minutes to an hour before your scheduled Magical Express pick-up. This will give you enough time to get to the resort, use the restroom, and get your luggage in order before departure.

If you're driving a car directly from the AK to the airport yourself, I would leave the AK about 2.5 hours before flight time. The drive to the airport is about 45 minutes, plus you'll need time to return the rental and get through security before your flight.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know if you have additional questions.
