Hi Tammy!
Welcome to planDisney! I WISH I could tell you from firsthand experience about
San Juan. Judging from my fellow panelists
Angie and
Marcie and their adventures there, it’s a gem of a city and chock-filled with history, art, and charm. Everyone raves about touring Old San Juan, which would be an excellent pre-cruise or post sailing activity. Now I'm totally going to DREAM of cruising from this beautiful port!
If Guests are sailing on a Disney ship from San Juan, they will fly into Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport. The airport code is actually SJU, so I can see how it’s a bit confusing which airport to use. I double checked this under Ground Transportation on the Disney Cruise Line website, and indeed the preferred airport is this one.
Since I mentioned ground transfers, you can also book your
transportation to and from the airport with Disney Cruise Line. Airport transfers are available on embarkation and debarkation days only and cost $20 per Guest. You could add ground transportation by calling Disney Cruise Line. preferably as soon as you have your flights finalized and your cruise booked. Then you can relax and let Captain Mickey be in charge of getting you everywhere you need to be on your vacation from start to finish.
Now that you have all the logistics worked out on how you would get to and from Puerto Rico, it can move from being a FANTASY to reality! Wishing you a WONDERful visit to San Juan and a MAGICal cruise.
Bon Voyage!
Sherry
