how to get from airport to resort

    Hello, Sandra. Welcome to planDisney.

As you may know, starting January 2022, Disney's Magical Express, which was a service to and from the airport, has been discontinued. This has left a lot of Guests like yourself wondering how they'll get from one to the other. I have a few ideas that might help. The first option and my personal favorite is to use a ride-share service. These services are pretty affordable and usually pretty timely. I have two of the most popular ride-share services downloaded to my phone and like to compare the two before deciding on which one to use. I often find that there is a big price difference and sometimes companies will also run promotions. Ride-share services offer a number of vehicles that fit a lot of different party sizes so I am sure you can find one that accommodates you best. If you are not interested in a ride-share service, you can take a more traditional route and use a taxi. Taxis are stationed outside of the airport and are ready to take you anywhere you need to go, like Walt Disney World. I find that a traditional taxi is a little bit more expensive than a ride-share service but I know some people feel more comfortable using this method. Another option would be to hire a car service before you get there to pick you up. This could be a town car, van, luxury SUV or even a limo. A quick Google search for "car service to Walt Disney World from the airport" will turn up plenty of options to choose from. If you aren't a huge fan of someone else driving you, you can rent a car to use during your vacation right at the airport. I've rented a car there several times and the process is a breeze.

The company Mears, which is/was the provider for Disney's Magical Express, has come out and said they will be offering a new service that will take people to and from the airport. I don't have much more information than that at this time to give you because they haven't released a lot of details regarding it yet. If you go to their website you can sign up for more information under the "Coming Soon" announcement.

I hope this helps give you a few ideas on how you might get to the Most Magical Place on Earth once you arrive at the airport. If you have any other questions, I'd love for you to stop back by and ask me. I'm here to help.

    Happy planning!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
