Welcome to planDisney, Carol.
I'm so glad you've chosen to be our Guest. There's nothing we enjoy more than helping fellow Guests plan their next visit to
Walt Disney World Resort.
The World's Most Magical Celebration is full of EARidescent excitement for you to experience and enjoy. Make sure you check out some of the new attractions, such as
Remy's Ratatouille Adventure or
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind (opening May 27). And did you hear the magical news? Character hugs are back!
So stop by to see Mickey and get ready to make some memories!
But "let's get down to business." How do you get from the airport to your
Disney Resorts Collection hotel and back? Carol, here are my top three options to choose from:
Shuttle Services
There are two different, but great shuttle services to choose from. The first option is Mears Connect (this company used to run the now-retired Disney's Magical Express). The second shuttle service option is Sunshine Flyer. This service has a very cool 1920s passenger cars and train locomotives theme. Check out both websites, compare prices, and decide which one suits you most.
RideshareMany people choose to get to Walt Disney World Resort from the airport using a rideshare service, like Uber or Lyft. All you need to do is download their respective apps and make a booking at a time that works best for you. The advantage of using a rideshare over a shuttle service is that you can leave when you're ready and you don't have to wait for other Guests. You're also taken straight to your Resort, instead of having to stop at multiple Resorts along the way. The disadvantage of using a rideshare service is that you're more limited when it comes to the number of people you can fit into one vehicle. So it depends on the size of your party.
Rental CarThere are a number of rental car companies at Orlando International Airport. Many people choose this option so that they have more flexibility. However, just note that there is an overnight fee to park at each Disney Resorts Collection hotel. So the cost can certainly add up if you rent a car.
Since I just want to arrive at my Disney Resort as soon as possible, my preferred option is to take an Uber or Lyft. However, I also have two young children who require car seats. Therefore, in my current season of life, the best option for me is to take a shuttle service. So it depends on what option suits you best, Carol.
I hope that's helpful. Don't hesitate to reach out again if you have any more questions! We appreciate you stopping by planDisney!
