Hi there, June Ann! I'm so glad you made your way to planDisney with your question. We love helping Guests find the magic in their
Disneyland Resort vacations and that includes situations just like this where it feels like the magic may have lost its way. Let's find our way back and get a plan in place for your visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!
This has been such a challenging travel season for many Guests, but I hopefully have some good news to share about your tickets. Those
tickets have quite a long runway for that magic carpet, and there is a bit of pixie-dust in each and every ticket that never fully runs out! Multi-day tickets purchased this year do not expire until January 12, 2024, while single-day tickets will expire on December 30, 2023. This means you have over a year to find the perfect time to return to the magic, when you're ready and when travel costs fit your budget.
While it's not required unless you are a
Magic Key holder, I would recommend canceling any current
theme park reservations that you are holding. Reservations are limited and subject to availability, so you may be paying a little pixie dust forward for another Guest looking to secure a reservation on your August dates. Canceling reservations is easily done within the Disneyland Mobile App by tapping the three-bar menu in the bottom right-hand corner. Select "Future Plans", and you should see any upcoming theme park reservations. Tap into each date and you will see the option to "Cancel Reservation". You can also do this via the Disneyland website by navigating to the "My Disneyland" tab and selecting "
Ticket and Reservations Details". Once here, tap "View My Reservations" and the process will be the same from there.
I know it may feel a little disheartening to let these reservations go, but let's look at the calendar ahead and see when might be a fun time to reschedule! My personal favorite is
Halloween Time which will be making its grand return from September 2nd - October 31st, 2022! Find yourself enjoying the parks with some happy haunts, lots of pumpkins, the very best Halloween treats, and some very special once-a-year overlays on a few favorite attractions. If you haven't experienced
Haunted Mansion Holiday with Jack Skellington and his Nightmare Before Christmas crew running amok, this is an absolute must-do!
If you're feeling more holly jolly, perhaps the
holidays at the Disneyland Resort might be a fun time to visit! While we don't have the exact date of when these will kick off quite yet, they typically run from mid-November through the first week of January. Seeing Mickey and Minnie in their holiday best, Cars Land fully decked out for the season, and sailing through the happiest cruise on earth on
"it's a small world" Holiday will make for some merry memories!
June Ann, no matter when you are able to return to the magic, your family will be in for some forever memory making. If you have any more questions about your planning, please come back to see us here at
planDisney.
Never stop dreaming,
Tara
