Hey Howdy Hey Kathy and welcome to planDisney!
Trips to the Walt Disney World Resort often come with a higher cost and are planned 6 months if not longer in advance. I always recommend people consider travel insurance for their vacations to cover anything unexpected that may come up to impact their vacation. While Disney does offer
travel protection there are details to every policy.
When booking your vacation package with Disney, you do have the option to add travel insurance up until 30 days when your final payment is due. Aon Infinity is the administrator of the insurance plan and you can easily visit their site for the specific details about the policy, what they cover and when. Things do vary by state so you can look up your specific policy for your state. If you have questions about the details of the policy or what they do cover, I would strongly recommend reaching out to them specifically with your questions.
That being said, it is my understanding that this particular policy does not cover airfare but I could be wrong. I would again highly suggest you look at the details of the policy, contact the insurance group and shop around for other options if you would like. Doing an internet search for travel insurance will give you a long list of providers you can look into that may cover different things at different rates. You can also ask your current insurance company with your home and auto insurance as many insurance companies do offer travel insurance as well.
Every traveler prioritizes different things, so make sure you do your homework with travel insurance to see which policy is right for you. It is also worth checking with the airline on their cancelation or rebooking flight options as these have gotten a whole lot more flexible recently. if you have any other questions, please let us know and we will do our best to help!
To Infinity and Beyond,
Nick
