Ahoy! Dreaming of a Disney Cruise and wondering if there is any magic to making reservations early? Are the fares better the earlier you book? Or does it simply allow you to book your fantasy state room location? Just deciding when to hoist my sails!

    Hi there, Shannon!

Welcome back to planDisney! Get ready to hoist those sails because you are asking all the right planning questions. We are going to stretch those Disney dollars as far as we can for you and move your DREAM sailing from a mere FANTASY into a reality!

One of my favorite tidbits of advice is to book your Disney Cruise Line vacations early. Booking your itinerary as far out as possible is typically the best way to save money. Bonus: no matter which ship you choose, you will also have the best overall stateroom selection. An early-bird booking for a voyage far out on the horizon is also a surefire way to ensure that you will be able to select the stateroom of your dreams! And since Disney Cruise Line offers cruises varying from three to fourteen nights, there’s a cruise for every preference and budget! Don’t miss the Special Offers link because one of those might be an additional source of savings.

Here’s a planDisney tip: buy Disney gift cards in the months leading up to a cruise and use those for payments and onboard spending. Did you know you can combine those gift cards onto one card? Once you create an account on the Disney Gift Card website, the cards can all be consolidated onto a single card (up to $ 1000).

Shannon, grab your trusty compass and let it guide you back to planDisney with more great planning questions. Best of luck selecting the perfect cruise for you and your crew.

    Happy Sailing!
