Ahoy, Laura!
Welcome back to planDisney! My crew and I absolutely love the Disney Magic, and I think you've picked one of the most breathtaking itineraries Disney offers. Alaska has a way of making you feel like you've stepped right into Brother Bear, where every glacier, mountain, and bald eagle reminds you that "the wilderness must be explored!"
You're already one step ahead knowing that entertainment schedules can experience a glacial shift from time to time, so you'll definitely want to confirm everything in your
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app once you're onboard. But you came for the information you don't know, not the information you already do, so let's take a look at what's currently planned for your voyage through the Last Frontier:
• Day 2 (At Sea) –
Formal Night: I can't think of a better backdrop than Alaska's snow-capped peaks while you and your crew are dressed in your finest for an elegant evening onboard. Keep an eye on your Navigator app for the Captain's Welcome Reception, where you'll often have the chance to meet members of the ship's leadership team and maybe even enjoy a complimentary beverage before dinner.
• Day 3 (Stikine Icecap) –
Frozen Celebration: This is one of the things that makes an Alaska sailing so unique! In addition to Frozen-themed activities throughout the day, you won't want to miss For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration. It's the perfect setting to let it go while surrounded by real glaciers! One thing to keep in mind is that these Alaska sailings generally do not include fireworks because of safety and local environmental regulations.
• Day 5 (Icy Strait Point) – Semi-Formal Night: If you enjoy dressing up, this is another fantastic opportunity to do so. With another spectacular stretch of Alaska just outside your porthole or verandah, it's the perfect excuse to capture some family photos you'll treasure long after you've sailed home.
One extra tip from a former Alaska resident: keep your camera close by whenever you're out on deck. The scenery changes around every bend, and you never know when a whale, sea lion, or bald eagle might decide to make a surprise appearance worthy of its own Disney nature documentary.
I hope this helps as you prepare for an unforgettable
adventure aboard the Magic, where majestic glaciers and Disney storytelling come together in a way that's unlike any other itinerary. Wishing you crystal-clear skies, incredible wildlife sightings, and just enough Frozen fun to make Olaf feel right at home.
Sea ya real soon with sunshine on deck and fireworks lighting up the night sky,
Dustin
