Hi there, is there an agent that would be able to assist me with purchasing tickets as well as reserving hotel at a military rate? We are interested in coming February/March 2022. Thank you for your time

    Welcome to planDisney, Sara!

Mine is also a military family, and on behalf of my fellow panelists, I’d like to thank you for your family’s service to our country. I know just how important it is for our military families to have a special place to be together and make magical memories, and the Walt Disney World Resort is that place for my family. I’m so happy to hear you’re planning a visit next year.

Walt Disney World Resort does offer some fantastic discounts on Disney Resorts Collection hotel rooms and theme park tickets, for which I’m so grateful. The current offers expire toward the end of 2021, and we likely won’t have news about the 2022 special offers until the fall. It’s sometimes hard to predict when those discounts will be announced, so I recommend keeping an eye on the Special Offers web page. While their information is not official, I like the Military Disney Tips blog, which is run by a veteran, and they will announce on social media when the offers are released.

Even though I’m a planDisney panelist and know a lot about planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation, I often use a travel agent when planning. An Authorized Disney Vacation Planner can help with booking your resort hotel room and can even keep an eye out for other deals and discounts during your travel dates. My best advice is to read lots of reviews and look for agencies that are “Earmarked,” which means Disney recognizes them for their customer service and the number of trips booked. Using an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner is also helpful during the phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort, as they will be knowledgeable about health and safety protocols, as well as things like Disney Park Pass and other Know Before You Go information.

If you decide to make your own arrangements, it’s important to read the Offer Details. I’m linking the 2021 military ticket offer so you can see what this year’s offer includes, along with the eligibility requirements, but note that the prices will likely increase and the terms are subject to change. The military-discounted theme park tickets can be purchased at your local base ticket office or through Shades of Green, the resort hotel for military members on Walt Disney World property; again, though, tickets for 2022 are not yet available.

Should military resort hotel discounts become available again next year, they are usually booked only by calling and speaking with a Reservations Cast Member; you can’t search availability and pricing online. The current discount ends in 2021, but I’m linking the current military resort hotel special offer so you can see the Offer Details and get a sense of how it works. As with the tickets, there is no guarantee the discount will be available in 2022 and the terms are subject to change.

I hope this helps you get a sense of how the military discounts usually work at Walt Disney World. If you’d like to learn more about the military special offers, the friendly Reservations Cast Members are standing by and happy to help. If you think of any further questions as you begin to plan your 2022 Disney vacation, please come back and see us. It’s always a pleasure to help a fellow military family!

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
