Hi Anna,
Welcome back to planDisney! I must say, you are an impressive, well-researched
Walt Disney World Resort vacation planner. I hope the teenagers in your party appreciate all the work you're doing to make their trip an unforgettable experience. Your attention to all the Disney details will pay magical dividends, I promise! Let's continue our discussion and dive into the deets of
Individual Lightning Lane purchases, shall we?
Guests between the age of 13 and 17 may have their own
My Disney Experience accounts; however, they are unable to link a payment method, which is required for an Individual Lightning Lane purchase in the
My Disney Experience Mobile App. If another Guest linked through the teens'
Family and Friends Lists and over the age of 18 is in the park that day, they can make the purchase for the 16 or 17-year-old(s). Alternately, a Cast Member I spoke to said a teen should be able to make an Individual Lightning Lane purchase at
Guest Relations, which can be found just inside and outside the entrance to all four theme parks. This is also a great question for members of the
Guest Experience Team, conveniently located throughout the parks under big, blue umbrellas.
In my experience, heading straight to an Advanced Lightning Lane attraction at park opening (or during
early entry for Guests staying at a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel) is a great way to minimize wait time and save money that would otherwise be spent on an Individual Lightning Lane purchase. The money saved can be spent on snacks, souvenEARS, or more snacks!
I recently answered a question about
teenagers and mobile ordering, which you may find helpful as you continue to figure out the logistics of your stay. Please don't hesitate to
reach out again, Anna, with any other trip-related questions. I'm all ears!
Choose magic,
Jennifer
