    Hi Angela!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.

The Animal Kingdom Lodge is a favorite resort of many guests; young children generally love staying there.  Be sure to spend some time exploring the resort. You should also try out viewing the animals at night with night vision goggles.  The activity will be clearly listed on the list of activities you will receive when you check-in.

There is a lot to do at Walt Disney World and you can't do it all on a single trip, or even dozens of trips!  I would concentrate on the Magic Kingdom; not only is it the crown jewel  of the whole Walt Disney World Resort, but it is also the favorite theme park of many children.  It's also my personal favorite theme park.  You might also consider visiting one of the water parks, especially if you are worried about the heat.  My two boys, ages 12 and 7, absolutely love the Disney water parks.  They love the water parks as much as they love some of the theme parks.  Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach are both fabulous, but I recommend visiting Typhoon Lagoon as it has a lot more shade.  You should also consider taking an afternoon break back at the lodge; the pool at the Animal Kingdom Lodge is very nice!

By the way, I also suggest picking up the tour book "The Complete Walt Disney World" by Julie and Mike Neal.  It is a great book for first time visitors as it is full  of information without being overwhelming.  It is also a beautiful book full of color photographs.  It will give you a good idea of everything there is to do at Walt Disney World.

I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
