    Hi again, Just a couple weeks to bliss for this momma! 4/22/15, The Wonder! My daughter and I are planning to do the fun run on Castaway Cay. Will we have any time to go back to the ship and shower/change/eat? Will I need to bring any funds to get shirts?

    You guys must be super excited. In a short 10 days from now, you'll be dancing at the Sail Away Party and starting off your magical vacation! Yay!

    My family and I love participating in the Castaway Cay 5K Fun Run. It's a wonderful way to get you jumpstarted for the day while at Disney's private island. Sure, you'll need to wake up just a tad bit earlier while you're on vacation - but hey, you'll be glad you did (that's exactly what my kids said). The night before you dock at Castaway Cay, make sure to check the Personal Navigator (or call Guest Services) to confirm where the meeting place is for the 5K Fun Run the following morning. On our voyage, we went down to one of the lounges at around 7:30am in the morning to register and pick up our bibs. There is no pre-registration, and this activity is complimentary to all cruisers. 

    Once you complete the 5K Fun Run, whether you do a combination run, walk, jog - you'll still have time to come back to your ship stateroom to change. We did just that, since I didn't want to carry around my sneakers on the beach :-). We did a quick change and went straight back on the island to enjoy the beach for the rest of the day. We actually had an early breakfast delivered by room service that morning... so our next meal was on the island at Cookies BBQ for lunch. It's an all-you-care-to-eat BBQ buffet and I loved the fresh fruits that can be sliced and peeled for you.

    Similar to the ship's cash-less onboard transactions, purchases made on Castaway Cay will also need to be charged to your stateroom Key to the World Card. So, don't forget to pick up your commemorative Castaway Cay 5K Fun Run T-Shirt by the finish line, right after you pick up your finisher medal.
