Hi there, Lawrence!
Happy to see you at the starting line here at planDisney as you begin the race to your Disney cruise. So glad to hEAR that you have a Disney Dream sailing on the calendar.
One of the reasons why we keep sailing with Disney Cruise Line is the DREAMy destinations. And tops on our list is Disney's private island,
Castaway Cay. I love how we can be busy and active with biking, swimming, and running the Castaway Cay 5K or as leisurely as we want by hanging out in a hammock or a lounge chair on the beach.
The Castaway Cay 5K is a great way to get going early and make the most of your time on the island. As with so many activities onboard and ashore, Captain Mickey is still sorting out what will still be offered. I have every hope that an outdoor 5K would make the cut and be available next May when you sail. But honestly, at this point, I do not know if that will be the case.
If it IS available, you would be able to register for the run once your cruise is paid in full and your
advance booking window opens. While logged on to the Disney Cruise Line website, select your reservation and choose the Castaway Cay day of your itinerary. The 5K will be listed under the “Onboard Fun” tab. Alternatively, you can also register once you board the ship at
Guest Services.
If you do participate in the Castaway Cay 5K, be sure to take some time to rest and relax on the beach! My other favorite active experiences include water sliding at Pelican Plunge, snorkeling at the Castaway Family Beach, chilling out at the adults-only Serenity Bay, and biking around the island. Whatever your plans are, scroll to the bottom of this link to find the
Castaway Cay map and get a lay of the land in advance.
Lawrence, run back to planDisney if you need additional planning advice. We'd love to SEA ya real soon!
