Ahoy there!
Welcome Home, Kevin! Happy to have you back onboard here at planDisney. Did you hear that? It’s the call of the wild, and by that, I mean
Alaska! My family and I couldn't wait to set foot onboard the Disney Wonder for our Alaskan adventure. Between the amazing ports of call and an assortment of
Port Adventures exploring nature and wildlife, it made for one memorable vacation.
It’s no WONDER that you are curious about the status of your Alaska voyage. Like you, I saw the recent decision that Canada made banning all cruises in Canadian waters through February 2022 and immediately thought of the Disney Cruise Line itineraries to Alaska. I am so sorry you will have to rework your plans, but hopefully it’s just a postponement of your Alaskan adventures.
If Guests have any questions about the CURRENT status of sailing, Captain Mickey has a
travel advisory listed on the Disney Cruise Line website. So far, the Disney Wonder has suspended all cruises through May 12th (and one dated June 28-July 7 because it was a 9-night cruise and the conditional sail order limits sailings no longer than 7 nights).
Disney Cruise Line will likely be handling these cancellations in WAVES, so I anticipate that you will be hearing something real soon since you are booked on a May itinerary. If you used a travel agent for your reservation, then your agent will be contacted. Otherwise, expect to be contacted directly and then you can decide whether to rebook using that cruise credit (if you have already paid in full).
It may be that your Alaskan adventure has to be deferred, but don’t be deterred! I SHORE hope that you keep a Disney cruise on your horizon. Whatever you decide, don’t forget your pals here at planDisney. We are always at the helm, ready to help you navigate the cruise planning waters.
SEA ya real soon!
