Hello again trip #3. planning Dec. 2014. If I book now can I add the dining plan later? and what if they add the Free plan can I add it later? 3 diff. families whats the best way to book & stay at the same Resort. in diff. rooms. Can't wait

Hi, Margaret!  You can add the dining plan to your reservation up to 72 hours prior to your arrival, so you'll have plenty of time to decide if you want the plan or not.  You can just call and add it to your existing reservation.

Free dining is not quite as easy to add.  If there is a free dining promotion, the number of rooms eligible to be booked with the free dining code is limited.  Your reservation will have to be rebooked using the promotional code.  In some cases, especially if you book early, you will be able to secure the same hotel and same type of accommodation you already have.  In some cases, however, you may have to be flexible in terms of resort or room type.  I know many travel agents who are on the phone as soon as the lines open the day free dining comes out to secure the promotion for their clients without too much disturbance to their requests.  The earlier you book, the better!

When you book your rooms, even if you are booking separately, make sure they link your reservations.  If you book on the phone - which I recommend in situations like this - let them know you are all traveling together and want rooms in the same vicinity.  You will also want to add the others traveling with you to your friends and family section of My Disney Experience so you can coordinate things like FastPass+.

I hope you have a fabulous upcoming vacation!
