Hello Thomas! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Happy to assist a fellow resident of the Keystone State! The late-night hours are my favorite time to visit the Disney Parks. The crowds are down, the line-waits are down, and the heat is down! With older kids, I too, tend to bypass the shows and just stick to the attractions.
My family and I have never found an attraction of interest unavailable during our late-nights in the Magic Kingdom! It is actually a little easier to list the attractions not usually available late at night. They sometimes include Enchanted Tales with Belle, the Hall of Presidents, Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor, and Carousel of Progress. Please note that available attractions are always subject to change.
If you are a fan of Magic Kingdom at night, consider the specially-ticketed
Disney After Hours at Magic Kingdom Park! This event is available on select nights January through May! Once the park closes to other Guests, you get the park for three hours in the late night! This experience offers limited tickets which means limited-to-no-wait for attractions. Over 25 of the most popular attractions will be available. No nighttime visit would be complete without snacks! Your admission covers ice-cream, popcorn, and select beverages available throughout the night. My favorite part about this event is that ticket-holders are usually granted access to the park a few hours before the event officially begins (typically around 7:00PM)!
Another option for after-hours Disney Parks fun is
Disney Villains After Hours at Magic Kingdom Park. Disney Villains rule the night during this special event ticket experience. You'll be in the Magic Kingdom Park for three hours after the park closes to other Guests. You can enjoy more than 20 of the most popular attractions. You can also enjoy ice-cream, popcorn, and select beverages which are all covered in your park admission. If you're really into the wicked-side of Disney, then feel free to join the Villains by dressing in attire inspired by your favorite Disney Villain! A listing of
dress code and costume guidelines can be found on the Walt Disney World website.
Finally, check the
Disney Parks calendar for the month of your visit. The Magic Kingdom Park could be open late for standard operating hours or even Extra Magic Hours with your regular park admission. You will find nearly every attraction open, perhaps with the limitations mentioned above.
So, Thomas, you've got some great options for what I find is the best time of the day (or night) to visit Magic!
