Welcome back to planDisney, Elvira! I'm so glad to be able to answer your question today.
This kind of situation happens all the time, and you won't run into any problems when you check in at '
Ohana. You should still continue to try to modify your reservation if you can, but there won't be an issue when you arrive at the restaurant if you're not able to modify in advance.
When you get to the restaurant, just let the host know that one member of your party couldn't make it and that you'll be dining as two instead of three. They'll update the party size on their end and seat you as normal. 'Ohana is used to small changes like this day of; they'll simply prepare the table and service for the two of you.
A couple of friendly tips to make everything smooth: aim to arrive a few minutes early and stop by the podium to confirm you're a party of two. You can also make note of this change when you do
mobile check-in, but it's always nice to stop by the host stand just in case. Your bill will reflect the number of meals actually served, not the original headcount. And generally, Disney only charges no-show fees when
nobody checks in for the reservation, so as long as you show up and dine, you're not penalized because one person couldn't come.
If you still feel like tinkering with the time or party size, keep checking the
My Disney Experience app all the way up until the day of your reservation, because that's when cancellations and tweaks often open new availability. But truly, with a confirmed reservation in hand, you're in great shape.
I hope this answers your question, Elvira, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation!
