Ahoy again, Sab! Welcome back to planDisney...again!
Joking aside, we're always here to answer such great questions, and I totally understand going by one name and having your Key to the World card say another...I am the guy with the nickname "planDrew" on the panel, after all!
That said, the Key To The World card will have to have your full name printed on it, as it acts not only as the key to your
stateroom but also as your method of payment aboard the ship as well as your "ticket" on and off the ship when visiting ports of call! Since you also need to take a government-issued ID with you when you leave the ship, it's important that your name be the same on both so local authorities can verify you're the person sailing on your ship when returning to the pier!
But don't fret, the crew members of the
Disney Wonder will be sure to call you whichever name you prefer, especially your rotational dining team! From the minute you meet them, they'll be sure to make note of your preferences not only for your meals but how you interact with them, too! Some of our favorite memories ever aboard the Disney Cruise Line ships relate to the fun we had with our dining team and how quickly they become like family, so definitely be sure to let them know to call you Sab!
And if you'd like a souvenir with "Sab" on your Key to the World card, you can stop by
Guest Services on Deck 3, Midship, and request if they can print you one with that name on it - and not have it be functional. Of course, this isn't a guaranteed request, but with a little faith, trust, and pixie dust, you just might luck out!
Well Sab, I've gotta get sailing again, but thank you so much for letting us help you at every step of the way as you plan! Keep the amazing questions coming anytime they surface, and we'll SEA ya real soon back here at planDisney!
Until next time, may your anchor be tight and your compass true!
Andrew
