I did it again, I promise myself I'll book our meals early...and don't. We are in Caribbean Beach, what is close-by that we could get to quickly after our afternoon nap. Epcot? DD? another resort restaurant?

    Christy:

Don't beat yourself up over dining reservations when there are so many restaurants on Disney property from which to choose. It sounds like this trip may be the one to try a few different ones. Here's some where you can get last-minute reservations and are located nearby:

    • Shutter's: Located right there at Caribbean Beach Resort, it makes the most sense... Their expertise lies in their fresh catch and Caribbean twists on pasta and fish along with their desserts. Although I probably wouldn't go out of my way to eat there with so many other choices on Disney property, it offers an upscale casual meal that may be the ticket for you. Keep in mind that it is only open for dinner, typically opening at 5 p.m.
    • Olivia's: Not too far away sits Old Key West Resort and its own Caribbean restaurant, Olivia's Cafe. Better than Shutter's, Olivia's Conch Fritters made our meal. You'll find the prices similar but there are also upscale sandwiches and burgers on the menu. It's not the best value to spend a Disney Dining credit unless you get the steak, but the desserts can make up for a simple entree.
    • Garden Grove: If you're looking for a restaurant that offers a spectacular buffet (all-you-care-to-eat-seafood on Fridays), characters, and typically an easy reservation, head to Garden Grove at the Swan. You'll be able to enjoy easy parking outside of the hotel and you'll be a comfortable walk to the Boardwalk. It's only drawback is that it is not on the Disney Dining Plan.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
