Hi there, Judith!
We are so happy to have you back at planDisney! You will be flying off to your Neverland in a few short weeks, and while you are at Walt Disney World, you never have to grow up. That's what I adore so much about my vacations at the Most Magical Place on Earth...I can still embrace my inner child and play and explore with that same wonder.
Such a great idea to make sure you have mapped out all the logistics of getting to and from Walt Disney World. “You can fly” (or in this case, bus) over to your
Walt Disney World Resort hotel from Orlando International Airport on the convenient and complimentary
Disney’s Magical Express. These motorcoaches must be sprinkled with pixie dust, they make getting to your resort hotel such a breeze. Even Tinker Bell would be impressed!
With Disney's
phased reopening comes some changes as you can imagine. One of those updated safety protocols means that Guests have to claim their own luggage from the baggage claim area at Orlando International Airport and have it loaded on a bus at Disney's Magical Express check-in area (Ground Transportation Area, first level of Terminal B). But I found on my last trip that I still had a seamless transition from baggage claim area to the pick-up zone for Disney’s Magical Express. It was like "Tick-Tock" and we were onboard!
For your return flight, unfortunately Disney does not offer Resort Airline Check-In, so you’ll have to make sure that your luggage is with you and loaded onto the motorcoach. Granted, this was a nice perk to staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, but I find that handling my own luggage gets me prepared for having to do that in the airport. At that point, I know I have left the lovely Disney bubble and I am back to reality.
Now, as Peter Pan would say, “think of the happiest things. It’s the same as having wings!” With Disney's Magical Express, I’m thinking of the fact that I don’t have to drive myself at all after a long flight and I can simply sit back and relax. ALMOST as good as not having to cook while on vacation!
Fly back to planDisney with your additional questions, Judith. And if I don't hEAR from you before your trip, have a magical vacation!
Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust,
Sherry
