Hello again panel!! My hubby and I are surprising our DD (4) and DS (9) with a trip to Disney Oct this year and I'm wanting to pack them disney themed carry ons for the plane, but I'm having such a hard time finding age appropriate things for my 9 YO! Help

    Hi Lyndsey,

I also have a 9-year-old son who is continually evolving with interests during our trips to Walt Disney World. If he's anything like my mouseketeer, you might think about some of the following ideas:

Star Wars: A ton of merchandise exists, from small lego boxes and toys to a wide range of books. This might be a great way to keep him entertained while preparing for an intergalactic flight at Disney's Hollywood Studios!

With the newly released movie, Muppets Most Wanted, perhaps he might like a Muppets joke book to enjoy on the plane. I know my son loves to learn (and try to remember!) jokes and your son can even prepare one for the Monsters, Inc Laugh Floor at Magic Kingdom. He'll have the opportunity to submit his joke before the show for the hopes it might be read during the attraction. You can find several to choose from on amazon.com.

Is your son into animals? Have him study up on the world's most interesting creatures. Disney's Animal Kingdom Cast Members will engage your children in awesome educational conversation, where he can discuss what he learned on the plane and relate it to the animals he might see in real life.

I hope these suggestions were helpful, Lyndsey, and feel free to write me back with follow up questions. I'm happy to help create a magical vacation for your family.
