Hey there, Suzann. Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.
I happen to love non-park days while vacationing at Walt Disney World. There is actually so much to see and do. I try to schedule at least 1 or 2 of these days anytime I'm there.
Disney's Beach Club Resort, in my opinion, has the best pool at any of the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels. Hopefully, you are planning to spend some time enjoying it. The pool area is 3-acres with one of the highest hotel waterslides, a lazy river, 3 whirlpools and even a sand-bottomed pool. It's really fun, I think your children are at perfect ages to enjoy this pool area, they'll love building sandcastles while splish-splashing around. If I were you, I'd probably start the day with Mickey waffles by the pool. Enjoying a morning swim is one of my very favorite things to do at Walt Disney World. After you've had some pool time fun, you could head back to your room and clean up for lunch. Boma-Flavors of Africa isn't actually open during this time but there are so many other great choices. For lunch, you could head to
Disney Springs. Disney Springs is a shopping, dining and entertainment hub. There are so many great options for lunch here. If your kiddos like pizza, like my daughter does, I suggest checking out Blaze Fast Fire'd Pizza for lunch. It's quick, affordable and delicious. I could spend so much time exploring Disney Springs and I think it'd be the perfect way for you to spend the afternoon. If you are still interested in eating at
Boma- Flavors of Africa, you could try to get a dinner reservation instead. You'll be able to take a bus directly from Disney Springs over to Boma-Flavors of Africa for your dinner. If you arrive early, I am sure your children will be delighted to see all of the animals roaming around from the lobby windows. After your meal, I'd head back to Disney's Beach Club Resort for their
nightly campfire and
movie under the stars. You can get a nightly schedule of your resort's events when you check in. It's a perfect way to end a day at Walt Disney World.
I hope this helps plan your day. If you have any other questions, please feel free to come back and ask.
