Hi again, Kim, tell me true-is the MVMCP worth the extra money? We have AP's, and it's tough to justify another ticket expense. We live in PA, so we see snow. :) Am I missing out on something really special? How are the Wishes different? Thanks as always!

    Hi Rebecca!

I lived in PA for 15 years and grew up in NY so seeing snow wouldn't overly impress me! However, my son was a few weeks shy of his third birthday when we first went to a Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. My absolute favorite memory from that evening was watching my little boy trying to catch snow flakes on Main Street U.S.A. while dancing and giggling. It was a spontaneous moment that really stands out for me.

That first party we were clad in our Mickey Santa hats and weren't able to stay through the whole party due to being overly exhausted. I still feel like we got our money's worth from the evening.

Now that I've been to several parties, I can honestly say that there's been some that were too crowded to make it as special as that first occasion. But there were others that were just as magical. When planning to attend an after-hours event, we now make sure that we don't plan anything too tiring that day. We sleep in, enjoy our resort pool, maybe go to Downtown Disney, and have a nice early dinner. Staying until the end of the party really makes a difference. This is difficult with young children. Our son is now 12.

The party does have lots of extras that you wouldn't be able to enjoy during a regular park day. The parade alone is phenomenal and ends with Santa in is sleigh. Holiday Wishes is spectacular. It takes Wishes to a whole new level with holiday music, perimeter fireworks, and narration by Jiminy Cricket and other characters.

If you have the time and it fits in your budget, go. Otherwise, wait for another year!
