    Hi again Jackie - staying at Pop (2 adults) 1/24-2/1/2012 - would luv to take boat to POR from Downtown Disney to take carriage ride - not sure what evening we want to go - is reservation necessary, or is it too busy for walk up? U R awesome! Happy New Yr

    Hi Kathleen!

         What a treat to hear from one of my favorite guests again!!!  I love your plan - it sounds sooo romantic!  Honestly, I have always felt that the carriage rides at Port Orleans French Quarter are one of the hidden treasures of Walt Disney World and reservations are not absolutely necessary, particularly during your vacation dates.  However, reservations ARE accepted 180 days in advance and can be made by calling 1-407-WDW-PLAY.  The cost is $45 for a 25 minutes ride throughout the resorts.  The carriages depart around 6:00 PM and continue throughout the evening until about 9:30 PM.  You will need to meet at the marina at Port Orleans Riverside (the boat will drop you here!) and purchase your tickets from the driver.  Credit cards are not accepted!

         If you want to check on same day availability, simply call 1-407-824-2832 or just try your luck at the marina.  Be sure to bundle up and have a fabulous time!
