Hello again, We are hoping to visit Disney next New Years and we are thinking of staying at a deluxe resort. Can you recommend or give us tips on the different deluxe resorts. We will be travelling with 2 kids (4 and 2). Thanks!!!

    Hi Kim!

Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel with your great question!

When I think of New Years and staying at a Deluxe Disney Resort Hotel, for the ultimate in location and view at this spectacular time of year, one place comes to mind to top them all: Disney's Contemporary Resort, Tower - Theme Park View Room. With the ages of your little ones, you'll love being so close to Magic Kingdom, right on the Monorail and with many great dining options right in your resort and nearby. Top this off with a nighttime view of Magic Kingdom and the fireworks right from your balcony ... heaven!

My close second pick in the Deluxe Category, knowing you have young ones, would be Disney's Polynesian Resort. Having access to the beach here to watch the New Year's Eve spectacular fireworks display is just perfect! Again, being located on the Magic Kingdom monorail and walking distance to the Epcot monorail opens up a whole world of dining options and transportation ease. The added availability of a boat to Magic Kingdom provides a fun alternative mode of transport.

In third spot, I'd lean towards Disney's Wilderness Lodge. I just LOVE the rustic charm of this beautiful lodge, also located surprisingly close to Magic Kingdom. Although not on the monorail, frequent boat service to Magic Kingdom makes you feel like you're right there in the heart of the magic. The beautiful grounds, fabulous pool and superb dining options rank this property high on my personal list of favourites.

I hope these tips help you to narrow down the fabulous choices you have to make. Please feel free to write me back any time you wish if you have further questions about any of these resorts. I'd love to hear from you again!

Wishing you a simply Magical time as you being planning your New Years 2014 Walt Disney World vacation!
