Hey, Zak and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Looks like October will be a Fantasmic! trip. With Disneyland Park decorated for Halloween, New Orleans Square may just get a little more spooky. Watch out for the large antebellum plantation home at the end. I hear there are grim grinning ghosts that come out to socialize.
I love a delicious meal at the
Blue Bayou Restaurant. We request a seat along the waterfront and watch the fireflies dance over the ferns while other evening critters such as crickets and frogs sing their evening ballad. This is one of my favorite places to enjoy a deliciously prepared pan-seared salmon (the sustainable fish). We sit back with a Mint Julep and veiller, you know, chat a while because it's N'awlins and time to enjoy a relaxing meal. But to make the experience even better add lagniappe, a little something extra. There is no better way to do that than to plus the dining experience by adding
Fantasmic!. This show combines Disney imagination, fireworks, heroes and villains, and of course, a Magic Mirror. Dining reservations usually open up 60 days in advance and the same goes for the
Fantasmic! Dining Package. Check back around late August for your select dates to open up. If you book a regular dining reservation at Blue Bayou Restaurant you will need to cancel it and book a Fantasmic! Dining Package as standard reservations may not be upgraded. Dining packages are available at Blue Bayou Restaurant starting at 11:30 AM for lunch and 4:00 PM for dinner. You may book online or call 714-781-3463 (DINE) to speak with a Cast Member.
Disney Dad Tip: After your meal, I suggest heading over to the
Mint Julep Bar or the walk-up window at the
French Market Restaurant for fresh, warm Mickey Beignets. We enjoy strolling along the Rivers of America munching on these powdered perfections.
Zak, as always, laissez les bon temp roule.
