Ahoy, Kevin!
When packing for a Disney Cruise Line vacation, it is oh-so-helpful to know the dress code for your specific itinerary, so you won't over (or under!) pack. I'll be happy to help explain
what you'll need to pack for a four-night voyage with Captain Mickey and his crew.
Every day, you'll be given a Personal Navigator - a printed schedule of all the fun things happening on the ship, with times and locations. On the front page, along with a weather forecast, it will tell you what the dress code is for dinner in the Main Dining Rooms each evening. The same information can also be found on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App, which I encourage you to download on your smartphone before you set sail.
On a four-night sailing, you can expect two "cruise casual" evenings. Cruise casual means no swimwear or tank tops, and I'd recommend no casual shorts. Casual dresses, capris, dress shorts, etc. are typical for women, and men are usually in dress shorts, khakis and polo/golf shirts.
Aye, Matey! One evening will be Pirate Night. While some guests may simply dress in all black with a bandana or two, you'll see some folks go ALL-OUT on this evening. You may think Johnny Depp himself has stepped aboard when you see some of the amazing pirate finery guests bring for this celebration at sea. No need to worry if you don't own pirate costumes - there will be plenty of eye patches and the like for sale in the onboard gift shops.
You'll also have the opportunity to take advantage of the ship's photography services and get that "perfect family photo" on an optional Dress-Up Night. Jackets and slacks for men, and dresses or pantsuits for women is the norm for this evening, though you may see guests use this night to go more formal - it's up to you!
I hope this helps with your packing (and shopping!). Have a magical day! - Diane W.
