Hi Monique,
You are staying at one of my favorite resorts. I think that
Disney's Old Key West Resort is a hidden gem. It has a laid-back, Florida Keys vibe. As a resort to hang out at and relax, I think that you have chosen a great one.
Be sure to consult the recreation guide that you are given when you check in for a list of activities available. Disney's Old Key West does offer Movies Under the Stars and campfires, as well as a variety of other activities throughout the day.
My family has been known to spend an entire day taking advantage of the recreation options at the main area of Disney's Old Key West. From table tennis to basketball to shuffleboard, you can borrow most of the equipment for these activities for free at Hank's Rent 'N Return. You can also rent bikes and surrey bikes here. We also like to take advantage of the Community Hall located in the main area. Here, you can do arts and crafts, borrow DVDs, play games, and so much more. You can also consider riding the boat to Downtown Disney. Even if you do not want to stay at Downtown Disney to shop, this is a peaceful boat ride. Of course there is a fun pool with a waterslide. Finally, have a meal at
Olivia's Cafe. The food here is homey and delicious.
I hope that this gives you some ideas on ways to spend a fun day at Disney's Old Key West Resort, Monique. Have a great time planning your vacation, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
