Hello again. We currently have reservations at PL – Riverside. Both my daughters (4 and 2) love animals. Is animal Kingdom Lodge worth it even if we don't get a savanna view room?

Hello Suzann!  Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Your inquiry is asking me to choose between 2 of my favorite Walt Disney World Resort Hotel experiences.

When my family stayed at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village, we had a Savanna View Room and I would absolutely recommend the experience for anyone who loves animals. In fact, I would recommend any room at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge not only for the views, but for the overall experience that includes the educational Mickey Bead activities, the Savanna View Overlooks, the views of animals from Sanaa Restaurant and Events and Tours that begin at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside offers it's own plethora of fun activities, like catching fish at the Fishin' Hole on Ol' Man Island, Bike Rentals and Horse Drawn Carriage Rides.

My kids were 4 and 2 when we visited Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and were more swept up in the activities (and pools) around the Resort Hotel than watching the animals from our verandah. The hands-on, social interactions were always the bigger draw.

While both Resort Hotels are Endlessly Magical Experiences, the only hesitation I would have in switching to Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is the increased daily rate and waiting for my kids to be a little older to fully appreciate the educational activities.

    Have a Wild Vacation!
