Hi again! What would be considered too late to reserve a moderate resort room? We are traveling next year but may not know the actual dates until a few months before the trip. Is this too late to book a room and dining reservations? Thanks.

    Hi Angela,

I know super-planners like me and the rest of the Disney Parks Moms Panel can give the impression that you must make all your Walt Disney World vacation decisions months in advance. But don't worry! You can still have a fabulous vacation if you plan a few months, weeks or even days ahead.

I've booked a moderate resort just a few days before a visit. And I've occasionally made dining reservations using the My Disney Experience Mobile App in the car on the 90-minute drive from my house to Walt Disney World (when my husband was driving, of course).

So I wouldn't stress. Once you know what dates work for you, then you can start exploring your options. I find that moderate resorts often have the best last-minute availability. And, sure, if you make dining reservations less than 180 days in advance, you might not be able to get Cinderella's Royal Table or Be Our Guest, but with so many amazing restaurants to choose from, you will still have great options.

Some of our favorite new spots at Walt Disney World are at Disney Springs: Morimoto Asia, Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' and the Boathouse top our list of recent additions. We can't wait to try Paddlefish, which opened last month.

As you start to weigh your resort and dining options, please feel free to check back with us for specific advice on the moderate resorts and the dining you find available. We love sharing our experiences with other guests, whether you're planning a year or a week in advance of your visit.

    Enjoy!
