Hello again! What is the best way to get from Animal Kingdom to the Sleigh Rides at Ft. Wilderness, and approximately how long do you think it will take! Thanks for all your help!

    Hi Robert!

The sleigh rides are in full swing right now in the Fort Wilderness Resort. I love hearing the bells coming in the distance from our motor coach and of course love seeing the beautiful horses as they pass by. The decorations have been steadily growing and the Fort will likely be in full color by next week.

There are several options to you for reaching the Fort. The easiest and probably the fastest will be to catch a Fort Wilderness bus at the Animal Kingdom park. This will bring you to the resort’s front bus area. You would then get off there and wait for a few minutes if necessary for the first internal bus. All bus loops will take you to the Pioneer Hall drop off which is where you will need to go for the sleigh rides. I would give yourself no less then an hour of transportation time and maybe more (1 1/2 hours) during busy times as traffic at certain areas right now is very heavy due to construction. You might be lucky and never have to wait for a bus but I am not one of those people. I usually see the bus pulling out just as I reach the stop!

You can also catch a bus to the Magic Kingdom and then take the boat to Fort Wilderness. Once there, it is just a short walk to the sleigh rides. This will likely take a bit longer then the first option.

Enjoy your one horse open sleigh ride!
