Hi again, Andrea. We are staying on the resort at Animal Kingdom and will most likely take advantage of a meal plan - which meal plan would you recommend and please share any 'not-to-miss' things to do with the boys. Thanks!

Glad to hear back from you, Merritt!

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is a truly spectacular resort; you will all be so thrilled that you've picked this very special place to call home while in Walt Disney World as it's a destination in and of itself. Great choice!

I recommend the "regular" Disney Dining Plan if you intend to sit down at a Table-Service restaurant once each day of your trip. We like to do that because it forces us to take a break from touring, and that break really helps energize everyone for the rest of the day. If you haven't made any TS Advanced Dining Reservations yet, it will be tricky to do so, since this is peak season, but ADRs may be the only way you'll get to enjoy a TS meal during your stay later this month. With a little creativity, you can still find reservations at some really wonderful locations. I checked WDW's online reservation system and found that the four of you can still get a reservation at Sanaa (yum!) at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas-Kidani Village (5:05 on 12/28) and at The Wave at Disney's Contemporary Resort (5:00 on 12/28; a monorail ride away from MK); seven restaurants in The World Showcase at Epcot (4:10-5:00 on 12/29.) From there, reservations are harder to come by as the holiday approaches, so book those now.

Regarding not-to-miss, let's start with the resort! Be sure to take full advantage of viewing the savannah, enjoying the fabulous pool as well as all of the activities for both the boys and the entire family during your stay. If the parks get too crowded and you decide you all need a break, not to worry. There will be so many activities offered here that you can't possibly do all of them (although you'll wish you could!)

Send me another question, Merritt, so that I can add the must-sees of the four parks, as well as if you'd like to visit Downtown Disney. There are wonderful options there, too. So much fun planning...let's get you ready for the perfect holiday visit to WDW!
