Me again. So do you have to add a card on file when doing online checkin? If so is their anyway on the site I can turn off charging for magic band? Also if say you do the charging and at check in you have a 100 dollar hold and you charge 300?

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Amanda! I’m so glad you stopped by with your question.

If there’s one thing I love other than being at Walt Disney World Resort, it’s planning a trip to Walt Disney World Resort! And staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel makes for the best vacation! With magical benefits such as Extra Magic Hours and early access to FastPass+ selections, what’s not to love?!

In order to process the Resort hotel online check-in, a credit card is required, and there is not a way to turn off charging privileges through online check-in. There is, however, an online check-in section at the Front Desk of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels. This would allow you to skip the traditional check-in line, and go there. It is usually a shorter queue, and you would be able to turn off those charging privileges there!

If the spending exceeds the original $100 hold, additional incremental holds will be obtained automatically. The authorization holds on the card will not exceed the current balance due plus $100, and this process will be done automatically.

I’ve used online check-in many times now, and I love the convenience and ease of it. As soon as we arrive to our Resort hotel, I try to get our vacations started as quickly as possible. We ask Bell Services at the Resort hotel to hold our luggage and we will run to Disney Springs or the Theme Parks!

Amanda, I hope you have the most magical vacation at The Most Magical Place on Earth!
