Afternoon, I recently canceled a trip to Aulani and booked at the Bay Lake Towers for the same time period. My question is should I expect all popular dining places to be booked up? As a DVC member since 2006 I've never been unable to make dining plans

Welcome to planDisney, fellow DVC friend David!

I'm so happy that you were able to utilize your vacation for a stay at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. That's a beautiful resort! Until you can get yourself to Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, a stay at Bay Lake Tower--right next to the heart of Walt Disney WorldMagic Kingdom Park--is a wonderful alternative.

We're planners, too, so I like to have all of our dining reservations made well in advance, often crafting our day's itinerary around where we'll dine each day. On the occasion when our plans have had to shift a bit, we've taken the perspective of trying out some new dining opportunities if our family favorites are not available. By doing so, we've found some wonderful NEW favorites that have expanded our list of Must-Do Disney Dining.

I took a look at your arrival date and searched for Advanced Dining Reservations for tables of four just to check on availability for your stay. At this time, most of our first choice locations have multiple tables available for dinner. EPCOT's Le Cellier Steakhouse, Coral Reef Restaurant, Chefs de France, La Hacienda de San Angel, Rose & Crown Dining Room, Spice Road Table, Teppan Edo, Tutto Italia Ristorante, Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria all have available seating on the date of your arrival. My family loves each and every one of these!

Looking at the other theme parks and Disney Springs, most of our other favorites are available, too. If you find that there is a date on which you can't select a favorite, consider reserving a late lunch instead. Another option is to enjoy a full day at a park or your resort, then head over to Disney Springs to try something that wasn't open on your last visit. No matter how much we love our favorites, there have been quite a few new locations that have wowed us with their menu, service, and ambiance. You might find some new favorites, too!

As you craft your upcoming trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth, David, be sure to send additional questions our way. We love to help!
