Hello there Lisa, and thank you for bringing your great question to planDisney!
One of the many things I adore about the
Disneyland Resort is the plethora of hotel options all within walking distance of both theme parks. Of course you'll want to select a hotel that is the best fit for your family which may include the proximity to the parks to maximize time, a hotel that offers a free breakfast for guests, or one that has a spectacular pool for your family to enjoy!
I recommend exploring both the
Disneyland Resort Hotels as well as the
Disney-approved Good Neighbor Hotels to see which one will work best for your family as well as your budget. All three of the Disneyland Resort Hotels are a quick walk to the entrance of
Disneyland Park,
Disney California Adventure Park, as well as a hop, skip, and a jump to the
Downtown Disney District which features great dining and shopping options. The convenience of being able to quickly head back to our hotel room during the day for either a nap or a quick swim is a huge benefit since my kids are younger. You also cannot beat the magic of staying at a Disney hotel!
We have stayed at plenty of the
Good Neighbor Hotels as well. For the trips where we have had longer stays, it was nice to save a bit of money, as well as have access to some nice amenities such as a
free hot breakfast we could enjoy before heading to the parks for the day. A week full of free breakfast really adds up to some nice savings! There are also several hotels nearby that are also within walking distance to the Disneyland Resort, or even offer a shuttle to the parks for guests.
Lisa, it really comes down to the hotel amenities that matter most to your family! Hopefully you can narrow down your options when you've had time to research a few of the nearby hotels. As you begin planning your magical trip, please do not hesitate to
come back and ask me any other questions, I'd be more than happy to help!
Have a magical day!
Melissa
