Hey Howdy Hey Kayoko and welcome to planDisney!
There are so many things to look forward to when visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, but pairing this with a trip on the Disney Cruise Line is going to be pure Magic! While there is so much to look forward to and plan, it sounds like we have to take care of some logistical issues of getting to and from the airport, port and Walt Disney World hotels. Not to worry Kayoko, you've got a friend in me to give you a few options!
Before getting too into recommendations on transportation, one thing to consider is the ages of your party members. In the state of Florida, children under a certain age need to be in car seats when riding in smaller vehicles. I would encourage you to look under the Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles for the specific laws, but this is typically children 5 and younger. If they are riding on a bus, they typically do not need car seats.
The cheapest way to get from the airport to Walt Disney World would be getting a rideshare, however, if you have children that need to be in a car seat, that can add up quickly! Your other option can be looking into different companies that provide this service. If you do an internet search for "Transportation from Orlando International Airport to Walt Disney World" you can get a list of various companies. My family typically books with MEARS Connect. This company has various transportation options which are very reasonable for round trips. They are reliable and we have had no issues with them.
Booking a rideshare to and from Walt Disney World to your cruise's port will also have similar guidelines. Rideshares are the cheapest if you don't need car seats. You can also do an internet search for "Transportation to (your port of call) from Walt Disney World". You will be given several companies you can compare the pricing of. You may also want to consider the
Disney Cruise Line transportation option. They can get you to the port and back to your resort in Disney World quickly. Typically if you are sailing out of Port Canaveral, as of this writing, the cost is $90 for a round-trip shuttle, just know prices are subject to change without notice. You are more than welcome to give them a call and discuss pricing with them for more specific details. My family and I sailed with Disney Cruise Line this past spring and we stayed in Walt Disney World before and after. We used Disney Cruise Line transportation and it was amazing. They were able to grab our luggage before we left our room and it Magically appeared at our stateroom once onboard the cruise. We were taken to a separate and quicker place to check in at the port and we had a minimal wait to board the ship. It was super efficient and very well executed for our family and I would highly recommend this option.
Kayoko, I hope this information helped to give you some different options to consider for your upcoming vacation. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach back out and let us know, we are always happy to help!
Have a Magical day,
Nick
