Do you advise taking advantage of EMH or avoiding the park with EMH (as recommended in The Unofficial Guide) I'm torn as to which is the best use of time. Also what is open during a.m. and p.m. EMH? Will be there Apr 6-11 with 13yo son and 7yo daughter.

We are devoted users of Extra Magic Hours (EMH) during the morning since we are morning people, and we have found that we can visit many rides in that extra hour. In fact, we can ride nearly everything in Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom during that time.  Our priority of rides to visit during EMH are those without fast-passes like Dumbo the Flying Elephant and Tomorrowland Indy Speedway. Also as we arrive at a park, my husband often takes a detour to gather our first round of fast-passes that we then use as the park becomes more crowded.   We have found as the parks become more crowded around lunch, we usually then go back to the room for a pool break and then return to a different park in the evening.  The evening EMH have sometimes been crowded, so those are more of a toss-up.  Here is a link to the EMH schedule and list of rides that are open during that time.
