Who's that I see hailing our ship? Why, if it isn't our friend Barbara, back again with another question here at planDisney! It's always a joy to see you aboard! Since we don't want you losing any sleep when it comes to this question, we'll dive right into the answer!
I think the question of bedding aboard the
ships of the Disney Cruise Line fleet is probably one of our most-asked of all! The good news there is we know the answers right away! Currently, the entire fleet is supplied by Biscayne Bedding - and I have it on good authority that it's classified as a "Euro Top" mattress!
Though. if we were going to use Disney Terminology, maybe we should call it "Top Paris..." Get it? Disneyland Paris used to be called...oh, never mind...back to the answer!
Euro top mattresses are a plush combination of soft and supportive material, which may be why nearly everyone who ever embarks on a Disney Cruise Line vacation sleeps so well - it's a great mattress for all, it would seem! They tend to be slightly softer than pillow tops, but the difference is the soft top layer is stitched right flush with the rest of the mattress, so there's no "flap" like a pillow top! This also means they're a bit firmer on the sides than they are in the middle, which - if you're like me and sleep on the very edge of the bed for some reason - you may have noticed! So I suppose the answer to your question is it's a combination of both, geographically speaking, but they tend to "feel" like a more plush top with good support underneath.
Like so many who sleep so soundly on a Disney Cruise Line vacation, if it turned out the mattresses were just bundles of straw with bedsheets, I'd be first up at my neighbor's farm asking for a bale.
I hope that helps you as you look forward to a great night's sleep and an even better vacation, Barbara! I can't wait for you to embark in almost exactly a month! Which reminds me, don't forget to complete your
Online Check-In! It's just about time!
Until next time, Barbara, I'll SEA ya' real soon!
