I would like some advice in regards to the dining plan. My family and I would like to know if this is a feasible idea for a blended family of 7? We have 2 adults, 4 teenagers, and 1 younger child. Or would it be more economical to spend as we wish?

    Hey Dionne-

Hey there, hi there, ho there and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Disney Dining Plans are fantastic. You may choose from several levels of service. Plans for the family on-the-go to those who like to sit down and relax are available. Let’s look at some important areas: cost, convenience and time.

A Disney Dining Plan provides a lot of food. If the members of your family are big eaters then the plan is the way to go. Lunch and dinner table service meals include one entree, one dessert and one non-alcoholic beverage or one buffet. Portions are huge at each meal and you will not be disappointed. Be sure to do character dining experiences (buffets) or order more expensive cuts of meat to get a real value for the Dining Plan. If you are not big eaters then the Dining Plan is not the best use of your Disney budget.

For families who love attractions and want to stay on the move or a family that wants to enjoy as many different snacks around the Parks then a Disney Dining Plan is not the best option. We love many different treats at the Parks and would rather skip on the Quick-Service desserts to get a Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar or Dole Whip.

We typically dine at one Table Service restaurant each day but do not order dessert. We need the break to relax and recharge. Getting off our feet and inside an air-conditioned building is an absolute must. You will be so thankful and the themed restaurants are just as fun as the attractions.

Disney Dad Tip: All restaurant menus and prices are available online and you can check them out to see which dining experiences will be best for your family.

Please let me know if you have further questions.

Dionne, enjoy making many Magical and Delicious Memories!
