Hi Kate,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question. Our little guy’s first visit was when he was 5 1/2 months old, so I’m sure you won’t be surprised when I say… don’t worry! While travelling with infants can have its challenges, I find that a visit to Walt Disney World Resort is probably one of the best trips you can take with a baby.
First, you’ll be happy to know that if an attraction says that it can be experienced by Guests of “
any height”, you should be able to enjoy it with your baby in your lap. I also recommend "baby wearing" (i.e. using a baby carrier or a wrap/sling). If you don't plan to bring a stroller and prefer to
rent one instead, I would recommend going with an authorized Disney Service provider such as Kingdom Strollers.
Because I like to travel light, I usually have baby/toddler gear delivered straight to my resort either via Garden Grocer or even amazon.com. If you run out of baby essentials during your visit, don’t forget to visit the
Baby Care Center at any of the of the Theme Parks. They’re also a great place to nurse and get out of the heat!
Finally, I STRONGLY recommend heading back to your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel for a nap time/pool break in the middle of the day. While we were on vacation, I “shifted” my little guy's schedule so that his afternoon nap took place later in the day. This allowed him to stay up and clap his pudgy little hands with delight during the nightly fireworks displays at most of the Theme Parks.
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
