Hello! I am going to Disneyland/California Adventure for a week at the end of this month with our 2 year old and 3.5 year old. Do you recommend us to bring a double or single stroller for them?

Hey there, hi there, ho there, Michelle, you’re as welcome as can be to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I always enjoy helping my fellow Californians plan their next visit to the Happiest Place on Earth, so let’s get started!

As the mom of three Mouseketeers ages 8 and under, I understand just how important strollers are to a Disneyland Resort vacation with little ones! I would definitely recommend bringing or renting a double stroller for your toddler and preschooler. Though there are plenty of options for taking breaks throughout your Disney days, your little ones are still going to enjoy having a spot to rest, or even nap, between attractions. Even my 8-year-old tries to sneak his way into my double stroller by the end of a long day in the parks! Just keep in mind that strollers can’t exceed 31” in width by 52” in length. The good news is that most single and double strollers fit within these guidelines, including my double-wide stroller!

If you’d prefer to rent a stroller, you can do so at Stroller Rentals, located just outside the Main Entrance of Disneyland Park, adjacent to the Kennel. You’ll find strollers available for rent on a daily basis, including a single, jogging-style stroller, and a double, tandem-style stroller. Or, if you prefer a length-of-stay rental, I recommend reaching out to ScooterBug, a local private rental company, at (800) 726-8284.

I also enjoy having a stroller handy to store my backpack, which includes snacks to keep my children content between meals. I typically pack granola bars, fruit snacks, food pouches, and their water bottles. I also grab a few bags of Goofy’s Candy Co. Character Gummies as soon as we arrive at the parks, just to have on hand. These have saved me from many toddler meltdowns!

If you happen to be staying at one of the Disneyland Resort Hotels, I recommend taking a break in the early afternoon, if possible. This is a great way to help the family re-charge for a magical evening. Within the parks, my other favorite spots to relax with little Guests include the Disneyland Railroad, the Disneyland Monorail, Disney Junior Dance Party!, Mickey and the Magical Map, and the Disney Animation Building.

Last but certainly not least, since you’re traveling with youngsters, you’ll want to get familiar with the Baby Care Centers, located inside each park. These Centers are the perfect spot to feed or change your children. They also offer handy vending machines filled with necessities you may have forgotten to pack.

Can’t wait to see ya’ real soon, Michelle!
