Hello, We will be in Disneyland/California Adventure Mid Oct. Two of my grandchildren are on a gluten free diet and my daughter is diabetic. Is there a list of Disney restaurants who have gluten free menu or who cater to guest with diet restrictions?

Greetings, Carrie, and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I’m happy to report that the Disneyland Resort does a great job of catering to Guests with dietary restrictions. Most table-service and quick-service restaurants offer allergy-friendly menus and other meal options to help accommodate any food allergies or dietary restrictions. I recommend indicating any food allergies or restrictions when making dining reservations, and confirming them again upon arrival at the restaurant. If you have any questions at any Disneyland Resort restaurants, you’re more than welcome to ask to speak with a Chef or Cast Member trained in special diets. When dining at a buffet or Character Dining experience, Chefs are available to walk you through the buffet to explain what your family can eat based off of their requirements.

To see an example of an allergy-friendly menu, take a look at this one from Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe, one of my favorite quick-service locations! Scroll to the bottom of the page, where you’ll find the menu broken down by categories such as Gluten/Wheat Allergy-Friendly, Egg Allergy-Friendly, Fish/Shellfish Allergy-Friendly, Milk Allergy-Friendly, Peanut/Tree Nut Allergy-Friendly, and Soy Allergy-Friendly. The Caprese on Foccacia Bread is my favorite sandwich there, but it’s also available as a Gluten/Wheat Allergy-Friendly Caprese Sandwich! Jolly Holiday is most well-known for the Jolly Holiday Combo, which includes a delicious Toasted Cheese Sandwich served with Tomato Basil Soup. I’m thrilled to report there’s a Gluten/Wheat Allergy-Friendly Jolly Holiday Combo, too!

When mobile ordering food on the Disneyland app, you can easily view allergy-friendly menus for other quick-service restaurants, too.

As for allergy-friendly treats, I recommend the iconic (and gluten and dairy-free) DOLE WHIP, found in Disneyland Park, and the IncrediCookie, a gluten-free blackberry jam-filled delight found on Pixar Pier in Disney California Adventure Park. I’m getting hungry just thinking about these scrumptious snacks!

I hope this information helps you plan your dining adventures at the Happiest Place on Earth! If you have any other questions that aren’t answered on the Special Dietary Requests page, I recommend contacting Special.Diets@disneyland.com for additional help.

    See ya’ real soon,
    Kristin
