Welcome to planDisney, Sara! I'm so excited you brought this question to us today; I am a huge fan of staying onsite at a Disney Resort Collections hotel whenever I visit the Most Magical Place on Earth for so many magical reasons - the proximity to the parks, the complimentary transportation, the fun themes and amenities at the resorts, and my favorite - the extra time it allows me to spend in the theme parks! Whether you choose to stay at a value, moderate, or deluxe resort, there are so many great perks that come with it, but let's talk about staying deluxe!

Disney Deluxe Resort hotels offer some of the best locations and direct transportation options to the theme parks, so you can get there faster and with more convenience! There is nothing quite like waking up and walking from Disney's Contemporary Resort directly to the entrance of Magic Kingdom Park, for example. I still remember as a kid how amazed I was to see the Disney Monorail glide right through my hotel when I stayed at this resort (and trust me, the magic of that moment lives on!) Deluxe resorts such as Disney's BoardWalk Inn on the BoardWalk also offer walking paths to both EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios, or the option to soar on the Disney Skyliner or set sail on a FriendShip Boat if you prefer. If you find yourself taking a bus to the theme parks from a deluxe resort, you will find a covered waiting area with seating for a more comfortable wait, which is a nice amenity, especially for a summertime visit.

Speaking of summertime, since you're visiting in early September, Disney Deluxe Resorts also house some of the best pools on Disney property and include splash pad areas and water slides for extra fun and entertainment! Select deluxe resorts even offer cabana rentals if you're interested in enjoying a day poolside during your vacation and enjoying the benefit of these well-designed oasis escapes!

While all Disney Resort hotel Guests have the perk of Early Theme Park Entry, Disney Deluxe Resort Guests also have exclusive access to Extended Evening Theme Park Hours on select nights to enjoy more time at the theme parks. With this benefit, Guests can experience shorter wait times for popular rides, an extra opportunity to join a Virtual Queue for select attractions, and the ambiance of a late-night VIP experience. I love lingering to get some near-empty park photos and just taking in the sights and sounds of these magical places.

In addition to all of this, Disney Deluxe Resorts feel a little more magical - watching giraffes from your resort room balcony, catching the fireworks and the Electrical Water Pageant on Seven Seas Lagoon, splashing down waterslides at your resort pool, or making s'mores with Chip 'n' Dale, there are some really special memories to be made at your Disney Deluxe Resort hotel.

Sara, no matter where you stay, magic is always part of a Disney vacation - I hope you have the best time making your own at a resort that feels like home!

    See you real soon,
