Is there any advantage to being a single rider? For the roller coasters we will have to do ride switch. Since it is just the three of us, will the wait time to ride for the first rider be shorter since they will be a party of one?

    Hi Michelle,

My family loves the Rider Switch Service and have found it really saves us time when we have a child who cannot (or does not wish to) ride one of the more thrilling or height restricted rides. It sounds like your party has two adults and one child and you plan on using the Rider Switch service for some of these rides.  In order to save even more time for the first Guest riding you do have the option of using the "Single Rider Line" at the following attractions:  Test Track at Epcot, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Expedition Everest at Disney's Animal Kingdom.  In my experience the Single Rider Line does save quite a bit of time for these attractions.  A single rider does not usually have less of a wait at the rest of the attractions since there is not a Single Rider Line for any of the other attractions at this time.

Another time saving tip when switching off with your child is to make a FastPass+ selection for the adult who decides to ride first.  The adult who rides second does not need a FastPass+ selection for that ride since they will be given a Rider Switch pass to use for that attraction.  Currently your Rider Switch pass only needs to be used the same day in which it was issued but otherwise does not have a time limit.  Therefore as soon as you obtain the Rider Switch pass from the Cast Member, the adult who is waiting with the child can leave the area and go experience a nearby attraction with the child while the first adult is riding the height restricted attraction.

I hope this information helps you make your vacation plans.  Please let us know if you have any further questions, we are always happy to help you plan your next Magical Adventure!
