I want to take advantage of the Disney Military Promotional Ticket from my base. Still, my Military ID will expire in the coming months, and I know they will check for it when I arrive at the park. Is my VA Card valid for identification?

    Hello, Luis!

Welcome back to planDisney, it’s always great to hear from you! And first and foremost, thank you for your service!

I had a wonderful chat with a very helpful Cast Member at the Shades of Green Attraction Tickets Sales Office, and here’s what I found out. The key question is: Are you retiring or separating? Retired service members can continue to purchase and use military discount tickets, while those who are separating unfortunately do not retain that benefit. If you’re purchasing tickets from your base, just be sure to bring a valid and current military ID to activate them once you arrive at Walt Disney World. While this guide is specific to 2024, it still has the most up-to-date information on acceptable IDs for ticket activation.

If it turns out you’re not eligible, no worries—there are still plenty of ways to save! I highly recommend checking out Disney’s Special Offers to see what promotions might be available for your travel dates. Plus, during your stay, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT are hosting Disney After Hours events. These separately ticketed events are fantastic ways to experience the parks with lower crowds and shorter wait times. These limited-capacity events also include complimentary popcorn, ice cream novelties, and select bottled beverages..talk about a sweet bonus!

Wishing you an absolutely magical trip, and if you need anything else, we’re always happy to help. See ya real soon!
