Hi. If I have an Advanced Dining Reservation at 8:30am, and another activity starting at 9:30am, what happens if the restaurant is backed up and not able to seat you on time? If there is no seat ready for over 30 min, can you cancel meal without penalty?

    Hi Jen!

Thanks for reaching out to the Moms Panel!

There's a first time for everything, but in all my years (and countless visits) to Disney World, I have yet to experience a Disney Dining reservation to where I've had to wait that long to be seated. There may be some instances in which it's a few minutes after your scheduled time, but I can't recall a time where it's gone longer than 10 minutes at most. That being said, Disney is always very accommodating to its guests. I'm sure if they were unable to seat you in a reasonable time, and you had to leave, you would be able to cancel the reservation without being penalized.

My only suggestion is your scheduled timing. I take that this may be a table service dining experience. These experiences, from the time you sit down, speak with the host or hostess, place your order, eat, and check out, this can take up to an hour (and sometimes longer). If you can, you may want to consider either moving your 8:30AM dining reservation to earlier (or the 9:30AM activity to later), just to provide you ample time to eat, not feel rushed, and have enough time to make it to the next activity. Something worth considering.. :-)

May all your wishes come true at Disney!
